The Capital Area Professional Tennis Association was founded in 1987, at that time it was know as the "Austin Professional Tennis Association." CAPTA's purpose is to increase awareness, participation and interest in the game of tennis in the Capital Area and to raise the standards of teaching as a profession.
CAPTA sponsors such events as "CAPTA Crush Cancer Fundraiser", "CAPTA/CATA Junior Tour" and various workshops for tennis professionals in the Capital Area.
